6th graders at Outdoor Lab!
|
September 24–October 8 is our state October Count window, with October 1 serving as the official count day. Student attendance during this period helps determine the state funding our school receives.
If your student is healthy, please make every effort to have them at school each day during the October Count window. We’d love to see 100% attendance! Of course, if your child is sick, please keep them home. We appreciate your support in making sure every student gets counted. |
Need Help with Parent Online Resources?
Mrs. Mott will be available on Friday, October 16, during Parent/Guardian-Teacher Conferences to help parents navigate Infinite Campus, Student Insights, and other helpful online resources.
If you’d like a little extra guidance—or just want to make sure you’re getting the most out of these tools—please complete our quick Tech Help Interest Survey. Based on the responses, we’ll schedule two blocks of time during conferences to provide this support.
Let us know if you’d like to join us! |
We’re excited to announce our Curriculum Night on Tuesday, October 27, from 6:00–7:00 p.m.
This will be a completely virtual event designed to give families a better understanding of what students are experiencing in the classroom. We’ll provide an overview of the curriculum being taught, basic instructional practices, and time for a short Q&A.
This evening was created in response to feedback from our family survey. We hope it will be a helpful way for families to feel more connected to their child’s learning and gain a better understanding of what happens in our classrooms each day. A virtual meeting link will be shared with families through Principal Notes and posted on our school website as the date gets closer. |

We are making great progress and are excited to show off what we have done in the library so far. We have a need this week for some strong people to help move some VERY heavy shelving to make it fit our storage needs better.
It should not take more than 15 minutes and can be done before or after school. If anyone is able to coordinate getting 4 or 5 *extremely strong people to be at school at the same time we can get it done lickety split. *If you're unable to judge how strong you are, that's ok. We will take your help regardless. |
Are you a current family with friends, neighbors, or relatives who may be interested in Jefferson Academy Coal Creek Canyon? Be sure to share this Save the Date! This year, we’re changing things up! Our Prospective Parent Night will be held virtually on November 5 at 6:00 p.m. A virtual format allows more families to learn about JA CCC from the comfort of home.
But we know there’s no substitute for seeing our school in action! Following the virtual event, prospective families will have the opportunity to schedule an in-person tour and visit classrooms, meet teachers, and see our students and programs in action.
More information and the registration link are coming soon. In the meantime, mark your calendar and help us spread the word! If you know a family who might be a great fit for JA CCC, please share this Save the Date with them. |
REPEATED
Conferences are coming up on October 16th. Sign-ups will be sent out by your classroom teacher on Monday October 6th. In keeping with our Core Values we would like 100% of families to participate in conferences. It takes all of us to make sure our JA CCC students are successful. |
REPEATED
The weather is starting to feel like fall, which means colder mornings, rainy days, and eventually snow! Our students love being outside, and we want to continue giving them opportunities to play and enjoy the outdoors—even when the weather is chilly or wet.
Please make sure your child comes to school dressed for Colorado mountain weather each day. Coats, warm layers, rain gear, hats, and gloves can make all the difference! If your family needs help with cold-weather clothing or gear, please contact the school office. We are happy to help and will keep all requests completely confidential. |
REPEATED Our food service provider is looking for someone to help with lunch preparation and service for a few hours each school day. This is a part-time position and could be a great fit for someone looking for a school-day schedule!
Interested, or know someone who would be a great fit? Please reach out to Carrie Mott at cmott@jajags.com for more information. |
