Building Update

We are getting a few questions about the building project. At the Jeffco Commission meeting, we had a Commissioner add a condition to our approval. This condition requires us to have the current access permit evaluated by CDOT to determine if we need to have the access permit updated. It is our understanding that our change in occupancy should not trigger an update to the access permit. We are in the process of appealing to CDOT. Since the commission meeting, we have been working on getting clarification about what needs to be done in order to be in compliance with the Department of Fire Prevention and Control and Public Health. As it currently stands, we will need to install a full fire suppression system in the building along with some adjustments to the HVAC system. Since this is going to set us back, we are going to have a kitchen installed that will be perfect for our SAS cooking classes. The timeline is still hazy as we need to cross the obstacle of CDOT, but once we have a firmer timeline, I will publish it for families. The most recent very loose timeline wouldn’t have the construction completed until March. Most of the conditions that we are working to meet right now caught us off guard, but hopefully, they are only road bumps and not walls.
