Executive Director Update

Dear JA Charter Schools Community,

As we bring this school year to a close, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to our students, families, staff, and supporters. This has been a year full of growth, perseverance, and meaningful accomplishments—and it would not have been possible without your unwavering dedication and partnership.

Across our campuses, students have thrived both academically and personally. From strong academic performance and engaging extracurriculars to community service and leadership development, our schools have continued to reflect the strength and character of the JA mission.

We are so excited that 100% of our seniors, across all 3 secondary campuses (JA Secondary, Summit Westminster, & Summit South), met graduation requirements this year!! In total, we graduated just over 160 seniors.

We’re also thrilled about what lies ahead next year. We broke ground on the new all weather track and grandstands at the Secondary with plans to complete the project by mid August. A huge thank you goes out to the City and County of Broomfield who recently approved contributing $315,000 to the project. Work is starting on the Mountain View Church in preparation for our Pre Kindergarten and Jag Care programs moving into that facility by the start of the school year. Summit South is completing the final stages of the due diligence process in order to combine our Littleton and Conifer campuses into a single location based in Morrison. It will be close, but there is a possibility this move will be completed by the start of school.

JA continues to remain on solid financial footing. Through detailed planning and diligent oversight of school budgets, we continue increasing staff salaries along with completing all projects mentioned without financing the work. Additionally, JA continues to build reserves with a goal of paying off our bond rather than refinancing the loan when the balloon payment is due.

As we celebrate this year’s achievements, I also want to offer a heartfelt thank-you to the staff members and Board leaders who will be moving on. Your service has made a lasting impact on our students and school culture. We are grateful for your dedication and wish you all the best in your next chapter.

The future of JA Charter Schools is bright, and I look forward to what we’ll accomplish together.

Thank you again for a great year. I hope you all enjoy a safe, restful, and joyful summer.

Warm regards,
Tim Matlick

New App Coming Soon!

Last year, we launched our new website platform—and we’re excited to share that we’re now working behind the scenes on the next big step: a brand-new school-based app, coming for the 2025–26 school year.

The app can connect you to your campus(es) and will provide easy access to key information like news, calendars, and important documents, all in one place. It will also allow for push notifications and alerts for emergencies, reminders, school closures, and more—keeping you connected in real time.

The app will be used alongside our website, focusing on the most essential features for quick access on the go.

Stay tuned for more details and the official launch!
