Mark your calendars! Fall Picture Day is coming up on Monday, September 8th. This is a Super Monday, which means all students will have their pictures taken for the yearbook, regardless of whether you’re purchasing photos.
Picture day information was sent home with students today—please check their backpacks! Please see flyer attached below.

We’d love your input! Please take a moment to complete this year’s Family and community connection survey.
This quick survey helps us learn more about your interests, availability for volunteer opportunities, family-owned businesses, and any potential needs. It’s an important tool to help us connect, support, and involve our JA families in meaningful ways throughout the year.
Our Community Engagement Specialist, Tiffany Flores, will follow up if needed and help connect you with resources or opportunities based on your responses. Thank you for helping us build a strong and connected JA community!
We are looking for someone to be a part of the Jefferson Academy School Accountability Committee. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month, in person at the JA Elementary campus but there is also an option for attending meetings virtually. For a description of what the responsibilities of SAC are click here. If you are interested please email Carrie Mott.
As a reminder please do not drop students off to play on the playground until 8:15am. If students want to enjoy free breakfast they can enter the building at 8:10am.
Carpet time in Pre-K with Mrs. Wilson
Paper copies of a field trip and technology forms(this is a JACCC specific form) were handed out at back to school night for families to sign. If you have not signed and returned them please do so as soon as possible. If you need additional copies please stop by the office and pick them up. Students will not have full access to their chromebook until technology form is signed and turned in.
Thank you to everyone who has stopped in the office to check in through the Raptor System. Making sure that everyone that is in the building is recognized as safe by wearing a nametag is really important. Students have been high alert for anyone who is not wearing some sort of nametag. I personally have been busted twice by students for not wearing my badge. Thanks Mackenzie and Tai for reminding me to follow the process:)
Remember the first time you come into the building you will be asked to show an ID and register in the system.
Please refer to the parking lot procedures for pick up and map in the back to school night presentation linked above. We are wanting everyone to get on board with the procedures so we can test their effectiveness while we are still small. As we grow we want to make sure we have a strong system of parking lot safety that will grow with us.
We are currently working on a JA organizational cell phone policy. As we are working on the policy I want to remind families that JA CCC current policy is that students are not to have their cell phones out from 8:15am-3:30pm. Thank you for your support as we encourage students to be engaged in their academics and face to face interactions while at school. If you have questions please contact Carrie Mott.
As mentioned at back to school night we are wanting to get parents into the building with volunteer opportunities. Some of our needs are one time or short term needs and are often requested by teachers or shared in these weekly principal notes. Our biggest school day needs for the year are helping with lunch supervision and parking lot safety.
Lunch supervision is about an hour a day from 11:30-12:30 and parking lot supervision is about 20-30 minutes a day from 3:15-3:45. Please let us know if you are able to help!
PTO News will be coming in a separate PTO only newsletter. Pay attention to your inbox so you don't miss a thing!
