As part of our commitment to student safety, we invite you to the Safe Student Summit on Wednesday, April 9, from 4:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Wheat Ridge High School. This informative and empowering evening will be led by child safety experts dedicated to equipping families with the knowledge and tools necessary to keep our students safe.
This Safe Student Summit will feature expert speakers, interactive workshops and valuable resources covering topics, including:
Online Safety: Navigating the complexities of social media, gaming and the dangers of online grooming.
Recognizing Predatory Behaviors: Understanding and identifying potential threats to our students.
Fostering Open Communication: Creating a safe and open space for meaningful conversations with your child about sensitive topics is critical for building trust and understanding.

Just a quick reminder to send your child with a water bottle to school each day. We've had ALOT of forgotten water bottles this month, and we’ve gone through an entire case of disposable water bottles since the beginning of January.
Our middle school "Things" 1-10 on Dr. Seuss spirit day!
Thank you to all our families who attended parent teacher conferences. We are always look to meet with 100% of our families. Your participation is a vital part of student success at our amazing school.
When your child(ren) will be tardy or absent PLEASE remember to call the attendance line OR enter them online though the absence request link which is found on our website home page. We always want to make sure students are accounted for in our system and building. When we don’t hear from you the absences show up as unexcused, which if we did an attendance audit could eventually lead to a truancy letter being sent. We want all students to be at school as much as possible, higher attendance rates lead to higher academic success.
Eagle Care is starting to plan for next school year! We are in the process of determining enrollment numbers for before and after care. If you are not already enrolled in Eagle Care and are interested in your child attending for the 2025-2026 school year, please contact Carol Wilson at cwilson@jajags.com with your child’s information and days and sessions ( before care/after care) you are interested in. Please know that children that are currently enrolled in Eagle Care do get priority enrollment and then a lottery will be held for the remaining enrollment spots. We also do not offer before care at this time, but hope to if/when we have enough interest in the before care program.
Our final core value is, “we promote a supportive environment for the safety and well-being of our community”. A couple of ways the school community can represent this core value are:
Fostering Inclusive and Supportive Relationships
Encourage a culture of kindness and empathy through community-led initiatives.
Making sure all students regardless of where they come from or are dealing with are feeling supported.
Create mentorship programs where older students support younger ones. This is happening in our building everyday. Middle schoolers have a strong bond with our kindergarteners. The third graders have been helping the younger students get through the lunch line. Students are taking all opportunities to step into leadership roles.
Engaging Families and the Community
Families can communicate perceived needs to the school to make sure we are on top of supporting our community.
Collaborate with local organizations to provide additional resources for students.
Involve students in decision-making processes related to school climate and safety.
Attend events sponsored by the school or district
Get involved
