Spring Break is here, reminding us once again how quickly time flies. We’re already three-quarters through the year, and I can hardly believe it. Almost a year ago, I began transitioning from the classroom to my role as principal at Coal Creek Canyon. At the time, there was so much uncertainty about the school's future. Today, I am proud to say that we are not just surviving—we are thriving.
Over the past year, so much has changed, and I’ve learned more than I ever imagined. While there have been a few missteps, our successes have far outweighed them. As we enter the final quarter of the year, my message to our students is simple: finish strong. Finish strong academically and in our four SOAR traits—Safety, Responsibility, Achievement, and Respect. I will be visiting classrooms as students return from Spring Break to share that message. I would love it if you all would reinforce the message at home as well.
With signs of spring fever already appearing, it's more important than ever for our students to stay focused and be the best Eagles they can be. Let’s make this last stretch count!
In partnership,
Mrs. Mott
We are very excited to announce that Mrs. Westbrook and her husband John welcomed Taysom Westbrook to their family on March 1st. Everyone is settled in at home and doing well!
Testing dates are set!
April 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th,16th and 17th. The times of the tests are spread out during the day depending on the grade level, if you have questions please reach out to classroom teachers. Thank you in advance for having your child at school on these days, we really appreciate it.
Please ensure that your child comes to school with a water bottle each day. Having access to water throughout the day helps keep them energized and focused, especially during physical activities and warmer weather.
Science erupting in 3rd grade!
We are looking for ideas of things to put into the time capsule as our first year as JA CCC comes to an end. We want things that represent our school as a whole or individual classes not necessarily individual students. If you have any thoughts please feel free to to email Carrie Mott or Stephanie Daniels.
