Next Friday, March 7th are parent teacher conferences. We are asking that all families schedule a conference. This is a great time to check in with teachers and talk through students' progress and plans for each student to finish the year strong. Students are not required to attend school on this day but some teachers may want students to be a part of the conference so please read all communication from your child's teacher to see what the expectations are for their conference time.

Just a quick reminder to send your child with a water bottle to school each day. We've had ALOT of forgotten water bottles this month, and we’ve gone through an entire case of disposable water bottles since the beginning of January.
Fun on "Sqiggles" the dragon after Lyle, Lyle the crocodile.
When your child(ren) will be tardy or absent PLEASE remember to call the attendance line OR enter them online though the absence request link which is found on our website home page. We always want to make sure students are accounted for in our system and building. When we don’t hear from you the absences show up as unexcused, which if we did an attendance audit could eventually lead to a truancy letter being sent. We want all students to be at school as much as possible, higher attendance rates lead to higher academic success.
Eagle Care is starting to plan for next school year! We are in the process of determining enrollment numbers for before and after care. If you are not already enrolled in Eagle Care and are interested in your child attending for the 2025-2026 school year, please contact Carol Wilson at cwilson@jajags.com with your child’s information and days and sessions ( before care/after care) you are interested in. Please know that children that are currently enrolled in Eagle Care do get priority enrollment and then a lottery will be held for the remaining enrollment spots. We also do not offer before care at this time, but hope to if/when we have enough interest in the before care program.
Our state CMAS testing is quite a ways off but wanted to make sure families get these dates on their calendars. We are asking all families to make their best effort to not plan trips or appointments during the window. The dates for the testing window are April 7th-April 25th.
Below are some ways to apply and live the core value "We embrace new ways to introduce, explore, and understand" in a school setting, it can be integrated into the culture, curriculum, and daily practices in a variety of meaningful ways. Many of these can also be applied at home.
Foster a Growth Mindset: We can all encourage students to embrace challenges, take risks, and see mistakes as opportunities for growth. The brain grows more when we learn from our mistakes than any other time of the learning process.
Model Open-Mindedness: Adults should model curiosity by being open to new ideas, approaches, and feedback, demonstrating how embracing new ways of thinking and doing things can lead to innovation and growth
Cross-Disciplinary Learning: Encourage interdisciplinary lessons where students can explore concepts from different subjects in a more integrated and holistic way. For example, combining art and history, or science and mathematics, to understand broader topics.
Active Learning: Use project-based learning, group discussions, role-playing, or hands-on activities to engage students in active exploration of concepts. This makes learning dynamic and interactive.
Reflective Practices: Model how to reflect regularly on what is working and what could be improved. This process of constant self-assessment helps everyone stay open to change and growth. Going through Friday folder work with your child is a practical way to do this.
